Els Ports
The Els Ports Natural Park is a massif that connects Catalonia with the regions of Valencia and Aragon. It was declared a natural park in 2001 and is the second largest in Catalonia. It offers beautiful places for all nature lovers. Today, we will visit its highest peak: Mount Caro, with a height of 1442 m, which, on a day with good visibility, offers the best view of the plain below, whose main protagonist is the Ebro River.
The most impressive element of the park is the population of mountain goats, a species native to the Iberian Peninsula, which within the park is controlled by the National Hunting Reserve. In smaller numbers, we can also encounter wild boars or see an eagle in flight or any other bird or small animal whose natural habitat is in Els Ports.
